Weather in Big Sky Country

I imagine there are nice places to be in the summer, but you would be hard pressed to find better weather than what we've had here in Montana in June and July. We're into August and in the first 2 months we had one really torrential downpour with the wind, thunder and lightning. Surrounding communities suffered with hail and more wind, but we were lucky to miss the hailstones. That was the only real storm that's come our way until recently. August has brought us a couple of easy storms with not much rain or wind, but lots of dark clouds, thunder and lightning. The cloudy sky produces gorgeous sunsets.

Our high temperatures have been 85 to 90 and our lows have been 40 to 50. Most days have been around 80 degrees; just right for shorts and t-shirts. Hmmmm, that's also our fishing uniform. Occassionally we've put on a pair of jeans, but no jackets.

Nowadays, with easy Internet access, getting a daily, even hourly, weather forecast is just a click away. With the Internet it's also simple to keep track of where we've been and where we think we might want to go. We know the weather of family and friends, and all I can think is they must be envious. We are lucky to be where we don't have to run the air conditioner to be cool. It's oh-so-nice to leave the windows open and feel the 50 degree breeze blow through our Mobile Fishing Lodge, our home-on-wheels.
